Real affordable insurance is not what most people think it is, yes it’s real insurance that much is true, but in reality it is not as much as a supplement plan. The insurance that is offered sounds great with many covered benefits, pay any where from 186.00 a month to 280.00 a month, get your plan delivered to you then read what is covered however it is not defined as to how much or percentage will be paid. The wording on the booklets simply say “Doctor visit 5 per year with no co pay”. Ok your thinking I am allowed 5 visit per year with no payment due right? This is far from the truth. What it really means is they might pay 40.00 of it or maybe 50.00 if it is a new patient. ( your booklet does not say that it says 5 visit per year no co pay) I cringe to think how little they pay for all those other things they claim to cover.

With that brief explanation done lets move on to the people who need to pay for their own benefits. 1. low income family (employer may not offer benefits) 2. people on disability who not yet receive Medicare. 3. people who cannot be insured by other companies. The question all comes down to how much money each of these groups make per month, which I am guessing is not very much so lets pick a random figure for someone on SSD social security disability of 1080.00 per month. If they pay the lowest price which is 186.00 month rate plus say they have other bills that total 550.00 a month. The person then needs to go see a doctor so with insurance card in hand they rush off to their appointment.

WOW they don’t see the doctor but a doctors assistant, they also pee in a bottle. 3 major test are ordered for the near future which are test that do need to be done but not relevant to the current problem. The problem starts when this person goes to check out of the doctor’s office. Expecting to have very little (if any) payment, their part turns out to be 148.00 and the first time patient gets the insurance rate of 50.00 paid. The office visit all total was 198.00. Now this person is worried because they may not have that much money left in the bank, or it is going to take the last of what they do have left in the bank for that month, now with that said do you think since they find out the insurance they are paying for does not pay so much that they plan to carry out those test? I think not so where is the quality health care in this?

Someone please come up with a health plan that everyone can afford that really helps the person instead of them passing on much needed quality health care that you don’t have to wait a year to get. Some people need health care NOW!
